NEWS RELEASE
Earlier today, a tank truck delivery was made to Lubrizol with temperatures above established handling guidelines. As water was applied to the container to bring the temperature down, Route 2 and Route 44 were temporarily closed while the situation was assessed.
After evaluating the potential exposure risk, the containment zone was reduced. Both Route 2 and Route 44 have been reopened.
Responders are on site to continue further cooling and offer necessary support.
It is important to know that there were never any harmful chemicals released, nor where there any threats to the surrounding communities.
If any conditions change that could impact the community, we will provide an immediate update.
