“Lubrizol is one of the largest employers in Lake County, and we are pleased to have worked with the company to keep this significant investment here,” said Lake County Commissioner John T. Plecnik. “This expansion allows Lubrizol to remain competitive in the global marketplace while continuing its long-standing presence in our community.”

According to the company’s announcement, the multi-million-dollar investment will integrate Lubrizol’s Brecksville employees and capabilities into its Wickliffe campus, allowing more than 1,000 of the company’s Northeast Ohio personnel to collaborate from a singular campus. This strategic project aims to enhance teamwork and accelerate decision making, increasing in-person connectivity and expanding development opportunities by bringing together the innovators who lead Lubrizol’s breakthrough science in a modernized workplace.

Through this investment, Lubrizol reinforces its commitment to the region and brings a boost in economic activity and community engagement to Lake County, as one of the county’s largest employers. The investment also strengthens Lubrizol’s global reach, as its work in Northeast Ohio impacts operations and customers in approximately 100 countries, further strengthening the county’s role in the global economy.

“For nearly 100 years, Lubrizol has been the backbone of our local business community and a cornerstone of the City of Wickliffe,” said Lake County Commissioner Morris W. Beverage III. “We are proud to have partnered with the City of Wickliffe to ensure this expansion continues right here in Lake County.”

Lubrizol, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is a science-based company whose specialty chemistry delivers sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve well-being and enhance modern life. Every day, the innovators of Lubrizol strive to create extraordinary value for customers at the intersection of science, market needs and business success, driving discovery and creating breakthrough solutions that enhance life and make the world work better. Founded in 1928, Lubrizol has global reach and local presence, with more than 100 manufacturing facilities, sales and technical offices and more than 7,000 employees around the world.

“We could not have accomplished this without the strong collaboration between the Lake County Commissioners, the Lake Development Authority, and Wickliffe City Council” said Wickliffe Mayor Joseph D. Sakacs. “They all share our vision of growing Wickliffe’s income tax base and creating an ecosystem where businesses can thrive.”

“This announcement validates what we in Lake County have long known—that our community can compete not only regionally, but nationally,” said Patrick T. Mohorcic, Executive Director of the Lake Development Authority. “We are proud of our continued partnership with The Lubrizol Corporation and excited about the growth and momentum this investment will generate for decades to come.” Please click here to read the entire press release.
