Lake County Celebrates Senior Volunteer Recognition at Captains Stadium

PAINESVILLE, Ohio, September 5, 2025– On September 3, 2025, the Lake County Board of Commissioners joined with the Lake County Volunteer Network (LCVN) and the Lake County Council on Aging (COA) in celebrating the remarkable contributions of senior volunteers at the 2025 Senior Volunteer Recognition event. The celebration took place at the Lake County Captains Stadium, where over 400 senior volunteers serving in Lake County were recognized amidst the lively atmosphere of the Lake County Captain’s game.

“The sunshine was shining down, the aroma of hot dogs filled the air, and the excitement of baseball made the event truly unforgettable. It was a perfect occasion to acknowledge the amazing dedication and spirit these volunteers bring to our community every day,” said Cristen Kane, Volunteer Services Coordinator of LCVN.

This year’s recognition event brought together 175 volunteers, offering them an afternoon of fellowship, appreciation, and celebration.

“Lake County is blessed with senior volunteers who truly make a difference in the lives of our residents,” said Commissioner John T. Plecnik. “We are so grateful for their wisdom, compassion, and generosity, which create a ripple effect of kindness across our entire community. This event at Captains Stadium was a wonderful way to bring everyone together, celebrate their impact, and share in the joy that comes from serving others.” Please click here to read the entire press release.
