Meet the Clerk

Maureen values customer service and believes any stakeholder accessing the office for any reason should be treated with respect. It has been her goal to change the perception of the "government office."

Maureen G. Kelly was first elected Clerk in 2008, re-elected in 2012 and ran unopposed in 2016.

She is the daughter of Irish Immigrants and has lived in Lake County since the age of 4. She travels "home" frequently to spend time with cousins on the family farm in County Roscommon.

She is a graduate of Immaculate Conception grade school and Villa Angela Academy. She received her undergarduate degree from Ursuline College and attained her Master's degree in Public Administration from Cleveland State University.

As a life-long learner, she is a Certified Court Manager having received this distinction from the Ohio Supreme Court. She is proud of having taken trumpet lessons as an adult.

Clerk Kelly is an active member of her statewide Association, the Ohio Clerks of Court Association serving as President Elect .  She is her Associations's  designee on the Automated Title Processing Board. In addition, she has played an integral role in the recent changes to the Certificate of Title now in use and the creation of a Title Manual, serving as Chairperson of both Committees.

She is the "keeper of the records" for both the

Legal and Certificate of Title Divisions.

She has a daughter, Maeve, and lives in Mentor.
