Township Curfews

Any person under the age of eighteen (18) years of age who violates these curfews may be charged as an unruly child (Section 2151 ORC). 

The curfew hours coincide and are as follows:


Under age 12

Juveniles under the age of twelve (12) years shall not be permitted on the public streets and places in Painesville Township, Perry Township, North Perry Village, and Concord Township between 9:30 p.m. (2130 hours) and 5:00 a.m. (0500 hours) unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Juveniles under the age of twelve (12) years shall not be permitted on the public streets and places in Leroy Township between 9:00 p.m. (2100 hours) and 5:00 a.m. (0500 hours), unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.


Age 12 to 15

Juveniles of the age of twelve (12) to fifteen (15) years,  shall not be permitted on the public streets and places in Painesville Township, Perry Township, Leroy Township, North Perry Village or Concord Township between 11:00 p.m. (2300 hours) until 5:00 a.m. (0500 hours) unless accompanied by a parent or a guardian.

Age 16 to 17

Juveniles of the age of sixteen (16) years and seventeen (17) years shall not be permitted on the public streets and places in Painesville Township, Perry Township, Leroy Township, or North Perry Village between 12 Midnight (2400 hours) until 5:00 a.m. (0500 hours) unless accompanied by a parent or a guardian.

Juveniles of the age of sixteen (16) years and seventeen (17) years shall not be permitted on public streets and places in Concord Township between the hours of 12:00 Midnight (2400 hours) until 5:00 a.m. (0500 hours) unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

BACKGROUND:

On June 8, 1995, the Painesville Township Board of Trustees adopted a curfew for juveniles in Painesville Township (Resolution No. 95-46). 

On August 1, 1995, the Board of Trustees in Perry Township adopted a curfew for juveniles (Resolution No. 95-27). 

On August 7, 1995, the Leroy Township Board of Trustees adopted a curfew for juveniles (Resolution No. 95-20).

On November 2, 1995, the North Perry Village Council adopted a curfew for juveniles (Ordinance No. 95-448).

On June 15, 2000, the Concord Township Board of Trustees adopted a curfew for juveniles (Resolution No. 2000-09).
