Lake County, Ohio - Commissioners

The Lake County Board of Commissioners presented Dan Donaldson, Director of the Lake County Soil and Water Conservation District, with a resolution recognizing the 50th Anniversary of the Ohio Scenic Rivers Act. On February 28, 1968, Ohio became a pioneer in the river preservation movement with the passage of the Ohio Scenic Rivers Act, the first scenic rivers act in the nation, which created a program to preserve and protect rivers throughout the State of Ohio.  In Lake County, the Grand River and Chagrin River were both designated as State Scenic Rivers in the 1970's.
