    Rental Meters

    Hydrant Flushing Program:

    • Program begins in April and ends in November
    • Dead end mains will be flushed. The dead end mains will be flushed according to city,  and will take approximately two weeks per city

     Procedure for water turn off:

    Inside

    • Customer can turn the water off inside the home by operating the main shut off valve.  If the main shut off valve is not operable or cannot be located, the customer should contact our department to turn the water off outside.  Only an LCDU employee can perform this function.

    Outside

    • If the curb stop is operable, the water can be turned off
    • If the curb stop is inoperable, it will have to be repaired (LCDU), then the water can be turned off.

     Boil Alert:

    • May be due to a water main break in the area
    • In the case of a boil alert, proper community notifications from LCDU will be distributed
