    Rental Meters


    Hydrant Flushing Program: (posted in the paper)

    • Program runs from April to November.
    • Dead end mains will be flushed.

    • The dead end mains will be flushed according to city and will take about two weeks per city.

      Procedure for water turn off: Leaking meter in home

      If curbside is operable:

    • 1.) Customer needs to call and schedule turn off

    • 2.) The LCDU, if curb stop is operable, could schedule the turnoff for the next day. The homeowner needs to be at home at the time of the shutoff or have someone present at the location.

      If curbside is NOT operable:

    • 1.) The LCDU will have to first repair the curbstop, which could take from 48 hours to 3 days.

    • 2.) Once curbstop is operable, LCDU will and get back to the customer as soon as possible so the customer can follow the preceding instructions.

      Boil Alert:

    • May be due to a water main break in the area.

    • In the case of a boil alert, the customer will be notified about the alert.

      Water Main Breaks:

       For a water main break during the day, call (440) 918-3416.  

    • For a water main break after hours, call (440) 918-3420 for western Lake County or (440) 350-2155 for eastern Lake County.
