    The Telecommunications Department is responsible for the installation, maintenance and service of the phone system used by all county offices. In addition, Telecommunications maintains and services the security equipment located in the County minimum and maximum security jails.

    Because of their technical expertise, responsibility for the 800 MHz radio system belongs to Telecommunications. The 800 MHz is the emergency radio system used by all Public Safety Departments and Agencies, as well as school buses, located in Lake County. This system enables safety forces to coordinate their efforts in the event of an emergency.
