Officer Burdyshaw is a “cowgirl”, born and raised on cattle ranches in western South Dakota and Nebraska. She moved to Ohio in 2004 and is still learning to navigate the many streets and highways here—quite different than the rural areas she was used to!
The classroom has been Officer Burdyshaw’s “second home” much of her life. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Language Arts. She has 19 years of teaching experience. She has taught a variety of classes in English, speech, drama, and journalism to grades 6-12. The majority of her teaching career was in the seventh grade classroom. Officer Burdyshaw implemented many new programs to her middle school and was named the Outstanding Young Nebraskan in Northeast Nebraska in 1993.
Officer Burdyshaw has two grown children and two granddaughters living in Nebraska. She is married to an avid outdoorsman and their two younger sons are actively involved in sports year around. One may likely find Officer Burdyshaw at the football field, basketball court, or baseball diamond cheering on her kids!
Officer Burdyshaw thrives in the classroom. She looks forward to delivering such an important and vital curriculum, as the P.L.U.S. program offers, to the students!
