    The Lake County Law Library provides legal research, reference and library services to the county and to the municipal corporations, townships, and courts within the county pursuant to section 307.51 of the Ohio Revised Code.

     

    The Library is located in the lower level of the Lake County Courthouse in Painesville, Ohio. Patrons have access to a wide range of print and online resources. Our collection covers a variety of areas including federal, state, tax, family, probate, real estate, and labor law.

     

    The Library is available Monday through Friday 8:00 am until 4:30 pm.

    The following schedule of disciplinary cases is set for September hearings by the Ohio Board of Professional Conduct. All hearings take place before a three-member panel of the board and are open to the public.

    The Ohio Supreme Court today directed its staff to prepare a draft amendment to the Ohio Rules of Professional Conduct that would clarify the services attorneys can offer clients seeking to comply with the state’s new medical marijuana law.

    Ohio lawyers may not ethically provide legal services to a client who is establishing a medical marijuana business because of prohibitions in federal law, the Board of Professional Conduct declared today in an advisory opinion.
