CHILDREN IN NEED OF FOREVER FAMILIES |
|
Zachary Date of Birth: 01-14-98
Zachary is a very intelligent teenager in search of a forever family. His interests include music, sports, video games, reading, hot wheels cars, puzzles, drawing, Beyblades and Science. He enjoys playing basketball, bowling and has a general interest in sports. Zachary would like to go to college and be a Veterinarian some day.
Zachary has been through a lot during his lifetime. He participates in therapy to address his history of abuse, neglect, abandonment and mental health/behavioral issues. He takes medication to help him manage the feelings associated with the trauma of his childhood. Zachary likes to know what is going on in his life and responds best when given clear directives. He has been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and is being evaluated for Reactive Attachment Disorder.
Zachary is best suited for a two parent home with a positive male role model in the home. His family will need to be supportive in helping him work through his past childhood trauma issues and participate in counseling as recommended by his therapist. They will benefit from gaining knowledge of Zachary’s mental health needs and be willing to not engage in power struggles with him. Zachary has some attachment to his ex-maternal step-grandmother and likes to have the opportunity to contact her if he chooses to do this. The Lake County Department of Job and Family Services is seeking a permanent home for Zachary.
