Tyler is in a traditional public school setting and has an Individual Education Plan to assist him in controlling his behavior at school.  Tyler is very intelligent and does outstanding academically when he is held accountable for making good grades.  Tyler has been diagnosed with ADHD and takes medication to assist in controlling his symptoms.  Tyler has also been diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder and Adjustment Disorder with Mixed Disturbance of Emotions and Conduct.  Tyler is in counseling to address past issues of abuse and neglect.  He attends counseling twice a month and has made progress in counseling sessions.  Tyler has a strong desire to please adults and be accepted by a family.  If Tyler feels an adult is disappointed in him, he shuts down to protect his feelings.  Tyler can be argumentative and disrespectful when he feels that his caregivers do not support him.  Overall, Tyler is a loving and compassionate child.  He is a spiritual child and believes in God and angels.  Tyler loves electronics, music, entertaining others, spending time outdoors and participating in sports.  He owns a guitar and loves to learn new songs.  Tyler played on his school basketball team and was a great team player!

 

Stephanie is in a partial hospitalization school setting and has an Individual Education Plan to assist her in controlling her behavior at school.  Stephanie was not able to be maintained in a traditional public school classroom, but has done much better in school since being placed in the partial hospitalization program.  Stephanie is very intelligent and could do well academically if she chose to complete her assignments regularly in school.  Stephanie has been diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder and ADHD.  Stephanie attends weekly counseling to address past issues of abuse and neglect and has made progress in counseling and is working on expressing her feelings.  Stephanie demands being in control of her environment.  It is imperative that caregivers not get into power struggles with Stephanie as this can instantly lead to a tantrum.  Stephanie loves animals and helping adults.  She is a very loving and compassionate child.  She believes in God and angels.  She likes spending time outdoors jumping on the trampoline and looking for bugs.  Stephanie likes music and singing.
