They are mandated when:

Mandated Reporters are able to find out the following information regarding the report that they made:

·       Acting in official capacity

·       Knows or suspects that the child has suffered or faces a threat of a physical or mental wound, injury, disability, or condition that indicates child abuse or neglect

·       Immediately report to children services or local police department

·       If JFS has initiated investigation

·       Whether JFS is continuing to investigate

·       Whether JFS is otherwise involved

·       General status of health and safety of child

·       Whether report has resulted in filing in Juvenile and/or Criminal Court
