·       Parent is overwhelmed with or incapable of providing for the child’s basic needs. Issues such as: a house fire, lack of employment, mental illness of parent may cause dependant situation.

·       Death of a parent and there is no other available caretaker for the child.

·       Parent is incarcerated and there is no other caretaker available for the child.

·       Parent is incapacitated due to hospitalization or mental illness and no other caretaker is available for the child.

·       Parent is overwhelmed with the special needs of the child.
