MARKELL ROAD BRIDGE RE-OPENING AND LOAD RESTRICTIONS
Lake County Engineer, James R. Gills, announced today that the Markell Road Bridge over the E. Branch of the Chagrin River has been re-opened to traffic subsequent to structural steel repairs and a re-inspection of the bridge. The closure last week followed by a load limit posting this week is a result of findings from an ODOT required in-depth inspection of the structure. The new restricted load is as follows:
VILLAGE OF WAITE HILL Posted Maximum Wt.
Markell Rd. Bridge (0.4 mi. W. of Chillicothe Road (SR 306)) 18 tons (36,000 lbs.)
Over East Branch of the Chagrin River
Mr. Gills stated, “We appreciate the patience of the motorist during this brief closure. Fortunately, the repairs were completed sooner than expected.”
