Welcome to Lake County, Ohio - Solid Waste District Minimize

Our History

The Lake County Solid Waste Management District was established in 1990 in compliance with Ohio's Solid Waste Law (ORC Ch 343), HB 592.  The District includes all 23 individual Lake County communities and is governed by its 7-member Policy Committee.  The function of the Policy Committee is to develop strategies for waste management, to take the lead on 5-year County Solid Waste Management Plan updates, and to plan and oversee the special collection events.
