Emerald Ash Borer Quarrantine

Since the last publication of CrosSection, Lake County has been included in the quarrantine area for Emerald Ash Borer.  While infestations have not been discovered in Lake County, it is now illegal to move ash trees, ash tree material and hardwood firewood out of Lake County into non-quarrantined counties without approval of the Agriculture Department.  For more information on the quarrantine, please visit the Ohio Department of Agriculture.  If you would like advice on how to treat an infested tree, please consult OSU Extension.

Kitchen Incubator Survey

Lake SWCD, The City of Geneva, and Ohio State University Extension, Ashtabula are partnering to determine the need for a shared use commercial kitchen.  This would be a facility where people could start food-production companies without sizeable investments in large processing equipment.  To help guide the process, please fill out the survey at the following link.  If you have questions, please contact Maurine Orndorff at Lake SWCD.
