County Recorder Becky Lynch, elected the county’s 25th Recorder in
history (Est. 1840), is charged with carrying out the duties set forth for Ohio
Recorders in the Ohio Revised Code (Section 317).
Lake County Recorder keeps and maintains accurate land records that are
current, legible and accessible. Some types of documents recorded in the
Recorder’s Office are Deeds, Mortgages, Certificates of Transfer (Affidavits,
Easements, Leases), Land Contracts, Zoning Resolutions, Military Service
Discharges, Corporate Mergers, Bills of Sale, Liens to name a few.

Also, please remember that Deeds or Transfers are not accepted through the
mail, as a Deed must be recorded in person, unless it already contains all of
the necessary Auditor and Engineer stamps and approvals.
