The Superintendent of the County Garage is appointed to oversee the County's fleet of vehicles which is used by County personnel for County business. General servicing and repairs are performed by the County's mechanics.

The Garage also houses the fueling station. By using this station, the County is able to save money on bulk fuel rates.

The County Garage keeps detailed service records of all County vehicles by means of a computerized vehicle maintenance system. These records, in addition to showing mileage and repairs, weigh the cost benefits of maintaining certain vehicles in the fleet.

The County Garage is also responsible for snow removal from County Parking Lots and tows vehicles when needed .

In 1995, the County Garage was moved outside the general fund. Its support now comes through a subsidy from the general fund and charges for services.
